The home of Morin Reiness

Morin Reiness lives in a small charming terraced house from 1947 in Valby, Copenhagen, with her family, consisting of her boyfriend Rasmus and their two daughters. Morin works in a hearing aid company, where she is part of a team developing the device's adaptation software. However, it is in her spare time that her creative mind really gets to run wild. This can be seen at her Instagram profile Mreiness, which shows her great passion for interior design and second-hand pieces.

With the environment in mind

It is always with the environment and sustainability in mind, when Morin selects interior pieces for her home. She is very attached to the things she surrounds herself with, and therefore itis  important for her to include materials from nature, such as rattan.

“I think the beautiful Nest footstool provides a peaceful and warm vibe, which is a great contrast to the vintage furniture, we have in our home. The idea, that the footstool might one day live on in my children's or grandchildren's homes, is a wonderful thought. ”

Interior with a story

“Since I was very young, I have had a great passion for recycling. I love going on "treasure hunts" in various thrift stores and flea markets and can get quite a rush from the atmosphere that often occurs at a flea market. "

Morin likes the idea of interior carrying a story. It is of great value for her, while at the same time protecting the environment by using recycled furniture in the interior.

Furniture with multiple functionalities

Morin loves to see possibilities in furniture - the more functionalities the better.

"I have several times used the Nest footstool as a small coffee table, where I have had a tray with small bowls of delicious snacks for the children, when they come home from daycare."

Morin gets inspiration everywhere, from Pinterest and Instagram to magazines. At times, the things she finds on marketplaces can be the starting point for a whole new decor of the existing furniture in her home.
